Blessed Yule

The weather outside is frightful but the atmosphere delightful...Can you believe that Yule is just around the corner? The snow has been falling steadily, both last night and since the early hours of this morning and everything is covered in a white blanket. I'm enjoying my second week off of work, after a few months of working without a break. It has given me the chance to gain more knowledge in some areas that have fascinated me, the most recent being some experimentation in asking for sacred signs. As a method of making decisions - and ALWAYS the correct ones - it is the most effective method I have ever come across. The guide is called "Sacred Signs", by a lady named Adrian Calabrese and outlines not only how to ask the Universe for specific signs, but also details how to recognize when they arrive and how to interpret them. Click on the link above to read her two short articles on "Why we attract negativity" and "How to work miracles in your life."

If you're interested in reading about some of my psychic experiments, you can drop by Nick's journal and check out my alter ego's blog.

Astronomers using NASA's Chandra X-ray Observatory have discovered one of the fastest stars ever seen. It's a "cosmic cannonball" that is challenging theories to explain its blistering speed. The name of the star is RX J0822-4300. It's a neutron star created by the Puppis A supernova explosion about 3700 years ago. Three Chandra observations clearly show the neutron star moving away from the center of the blast. Speed: 3 million mph! At this rate, RX J0822-4300 is destined to escape the Milky Way just millions of years from now.

The breakneck speed of the Puppis A neutron star is not easily explained, however, by even the most sophisticated supernova explosion models. "The puzzle about this cosmic cannonball is how nature can make such a powerful cannon," says Frank Winkler of Middlebury College. "The velocity might be explained by an unusually energetic explosion," but researchers remain unsure. It's a high-speed mystery—courtesy of Chandra.

Woman with half a brain
Doctors treating a Chinese woman who complained of feeling weak discovered she only had half a brain. The woman, 39, from Wuhan city, has lived a perfectly normal life and only came into hospital after she complained of feeling weak and stiff.

Outer space as the abode of angels
There is a bizarre story involving the Soviet space program that originally circulated in the late 1980s, and still pops up here and there on the internet. Attributed to The Washington Post, the story spoke of six Soviet cosmonauts being witness to seven giant figures hanging in space, in the form of humans, with mist-like halos and wings the size of those on jumbo jets. In other words, the classic depiction of angels.

It's the end of the world
Mayan apocalyptic theories suggest that the end of the world is imminent. The multi-calendar society of the Mayan Empire predicts that December 21, 2012 will be doomsday. On winter solstice, for the first time in 26,000 years, the sun will align with the center of the Milky Way and some people believe that this will cause a reversal in the magnetic fields of the sun, causing a chain reaction on Earth.

Gnostics reveal why Christians deny UFOs and Extraterrestrial contacts with humanity
Have you ever wondered why representatives and authority structures seem to vehemently deny the UFOs, and numerous reports of historical and on-going contacts with Extraterrestrials? There have been numerous reports from millions of witnesses, of not only distant sightings of apparent alien spacecraft in the sky, but both apparent hostile and apparent peaceful direct contacts of the "third kind" with many races of Extraterrestrials.

Map lets you go away with the fairies
Tourists who enjoy seeing where famous Britons live can now visit the homes of some of its most ancient and mysterious inhabitants – fairies. A new map gives visitors a tour of folk legends throughout Britain – from the 17th century tale about a minister who was abducted by fairies in Scotland to a boy who played drums for the mythical creatures.

The Dorje and Bell

Dorje in Tibetan means 'indestructible.' The Dorje is the Tibetan Buddhist equivalent of the double terminated Hindu ritual tool known as the Vajre, or thunderbolt. It represents masculine force, sudden inspiration, the 'cutting' of ignorance and illusion. In rituals it is always paired with the bell, or Ghanta, its feminine counterpart. The spoked ends represent the closing of the spokes of the wheel of Samsara; the attainment of enlightenment. A ritual gesture is performed crossing the tools over the chest, representing union of the male and female principals. As ritual tools, they are similar in symbolism to the chalice and dagger used in Wicca and ritual magick.

"I really hate my mother-in-law," complained one cannibal to the other during dinner. "Well," said the other cannibal, "just eat the vegetables then."

A man went to the doctor asking what he needed to do to live to be 100 years old. The grave physician informed him to give up drinking, smoking and sex. When asked if this would guarantee 100 years of life, the doctor had soberly replied, "No, but it will seem like it."

An elderly woman was held up on the street by an enormous thug with a gun. Handing over $7.95, she said, "You should be ashamed of yourself, holding up an old lady like me. A man of your size ought to be holding up a bank."

Thanks for coming by and I promise to do some visiting this week.

See you in the ether !

It was a nice surprise to hear from you again. Thanks for the fun thoughts of snow and my decor. I'm trying to convince myself to be in a cheery mood. Holidays aren't what they used to be.

Yep, I've been real wishy-washy with my journal. I had to close it a few times because while this internet stuff is fun, there are certain aspects of intrusion that goes along with it that just ruins everybody's fun and the only way I know to stop a lot of it, is change accounts. So far, this time, I've not had any instances of worry and I pray it continues because I don't want to have to quit again and then wait a few months and start over again.

I enjoyed your entries, especially your little funnies that you posted at the end. Thanks for sharing them because I always enjoy a good giggle.

Hope you have a fabulous week!
